The first project embarked upon on this wonderful course was making a wire model.
I first drew some of the objects provided including a rather weird ornamental cat. I had good intentions for the cat as seen in my paper work accounts but thought I was biting off more than I could chew.
I went home and made various sketches of some of my ornaments. I decided to make a replica of a glass candlestick. I sketched the candlestick then made the stem using foam strips instead of wire to experiment with. Then using recycled electrical wire I started on the candlestick. I really enjoyed trying this as although I have experimented with many handicrafts over the years I have never used wire. The finished candlestick was quite fragile but using new and softer wire I feel it would have been a lot neater.
Because I was away on holiday at the time I was unable to attend the photograph session at Glyndwr University but did take and print my own photographs some of which I have included.
